HISTORY

Photoshop was developed in 1987 by two brothers Thomas and John Knoll, University of Michigan, began writing a program on his Macintosh Plus to display gray-scale images on a monochrome display. This program caught the attention of his brother John, an Industrial Light & Magic employee, who recommended that Thomas turn it into a full-fledged image editing program. 

Photoshop was previously available only for the Macintosh platform. In 1993, Seetharaman Narayanan the Adobe chief architect first time turns Photoshop to Microsoft Windows systems which helps in significant growth in spreading the editing software to whole world.

VERSIONS

Various versions of Photoshop were launched and still in a developing stage to help its user to edit and categories there imagination view point to a image. Below are the different versions :

• Version 0.07 (coded as “Bond”; double-oh-seven)

• Version 0.87 (coded as “Seurat” also known as “Barneyscan XP”) 

• Version 1.0 (February 1990)

• Version 8 CS (October 2003)

• Version 9 CS2 (Major updates with new transform tools, retouching tools, Camera Raw V 3.0 , etc…)

• Version 10 CS3 

• Version 11 CS4 ( 3D formats, the new Adjustment and Mask Panels, Content-aware scaling, etc…)

• Version 12 CS5 (16-bit image saving starts supporting)

• Version 13 CS6  ( Straighten Tools introduced)

• Version 14 CC ( Perspective Warp, Linked Smart Objects, and 3D Printing support )

• Version 15 CC 2014 ( content-aware tools, two new blur tools introduced)

• Version 16 & 17 CC 2015

• Version 18 CC 2017

• Version 19 CC 2018

• Version 20 CC 2019

• Version 21 CC 2020
